Police in northern Sweden recently made an easy bust after a suspect left behind his footprints in the snow.

A good way to get busted by police is to leave a literal trail. Believe it or not, there are many absentminded crooks who do just that.

Police in northern Sweden recently made an easy bust after a suspect left behind his footprints in the snow. The culprit reportedly broke into a psychiatric ward in Boden.

It is still currently unknown what exactly was taken from the facility but local law enforcement authorities believe the thief intended to swipe medical supplies. The suspect’s apartment was a very short distance away from the crime scene and officers were easily able to find out where he lived.

A policeman involved in the manhunt stated “We tracked him to his address. He hadn't counted on the fact that it had snowed during the night.”

The cops basically followed his footprints, which were the only set in the freshly fallen snow, right to his front door. He was quickly arrested and booked.

The case will soon make it into court where the prosecutor will decide if he will face further criminal punishment.
