Chicago, 3 Jun (EFE), (Camera: Viviana Avila).- Over 30 same-sex couples saw their dream come true at a park in central Chicago when they tied the not at the State of Illinois' first civil union ceremony attended by Lord Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Governor Pat Quinn.

Illinois' Religious Freedom and Civil Union Act came into effect on 1 June, making it the sixth U.S. state to give same-sex couples some of the rights enjoyed by married couples such as those related to hospital visits, medical decisions, health insurance, adoption, pensions, inheritance and death.
