Desireé Dallagiacomo lives in New Orleans where she teaches performance and writing workshops with the Recovery School District, Centre for the Arts, and WordPlay Teen Writing Project. She is studying creative writing at the University of New Orleans, where she is a recipient of the Ryan Chigazola Poetry Scholarship. She has competed in multiple national and international poetry slams, and she is the 2013 Southwest Shootout Regional Poetry Slam Champion. She has performed alongside acclaimed poets such as Saul Williams, Martin Espada, Jeffrey McDaniel, and Mos Def. She is the writer and creator of "From Her Mouth Came the Flood", a 2-woman theatrical production set to premiere at the NOLA Fringe Festival in November 2013. Her work can be found in The Allen Review, Tandem, Ampersand Journal, Ellipsis, Word Dance, and many online publications.
