Shoplifting Florida mom uses baby as human shield, throws infant at cops
  • 11 years ago
Florida mom Ashley Taylor Wright was arrested and charged after using her baby as a human shield after she was caught shoplifting from a Dillard's store. According to a police report Wright, 23, allegedly walked out of a Dillard's store in Florida with $261 worth of stolen goods in her baby's stroller.

When a police officer confronted her on the car park, she quickly closed her car door - on his finger, before shouting at her husband to get in and drive off. The officer ran around to the other side and managed to open the door, whereupon Wright grabbed her infant and used it as a human shield, reportedly telling him "You will have to shoot through the baby to get me!"

Not content with using her child as a human shield, Wright then made a run for it, turning to toss the carrier-clad child at the chasing policeman. After dodging the flying baby carrier the officer then grabbed at Wright, who fell to the ground. The officer then handcuffed the struggling Wright, who then proceeded to bang her head against the ground causing a laceration to her head.

Still not content, Wright, who later admitted she had been drinking, began to shake her head violently, spraying blood on the officer and his backup while shouting "Now you Mother Fuckers have my blood all over you bitches. Wright was charged with felony child abuse, petty theft, and resisting an officer. The baby was unharmed.
