The End of R2P? U.N. Intervention in Libya & Syria

This panel will feature civil society experts who will share the experience of their organizations in engaging with national mechanisms or working with political actors to influence and strengthen capacity for implementing the Responsibility to Protect and preventing the domestic commission of atrocity crimes. Presentations will focus on the Tanzanian National Committee on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide, War Crimes, Crimes Against Humanity and all Forms of Discrimination; the role of Parliamentarians in preventing atrocities, with a focus on the Canadian All Parliamentary Group for the Prevention of Genocide and Other Crimes Against Humanity; and the initiatives being undertaken in the Asia-Pacific to develop national initiatives for the prevention of RtoP crimes.
