Ninja fail: Todd Kapcsos arrested for acting like a ninja

Todd Kapcsos, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, had an epic ninja fail: He dressed up as a ninja to fight crime and was executing his moves when police arrested him and charged him with loitering, prowling at night and disorderly conduct.

There had been a few big crimes in the Moxham area of Johnstown, about 60 miles east of Pittsburgh, so on the night of July 15 Kapcsos thought he would help the police by dressing up as a ninja and crawling around the neighborhood while wielding a baseball bat. While lurking in the shadows he practiced ninja moves such as rolling into a ball to look like a rock hidden in the gloom. But the neighbors freaked out. They saw a man in ninja getup prowling around in the bushes and acting like a burglar, so they called the cops.

Poor Todd, he was just trying to help. "I dressed up in all black, snuck around, went through bushes," he told local television station WJAC-TV. "There's not enough police officers," he said. "The community should do something rather than sit back."

Neighbor Chris Trevino saw something entirely different: Kapcsos was "running like a ninja, not like a normal person jogging. He was going back and forth creeping," she told WJAC-TV. After she called the cops: "The ninja ran across the alley and right into the arms of a police officer," she said. "It looked more like he was trying to break into homes, not like he was gonna be a ninja and save the world."
