Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth engagement off, couple breaks up
  • 11 years ago
Splitting up: Miley Cyrus, 20, and Liam Hemsworth, 23, are calling off their engagement and breaking up, according to every single entertainment tabloid, magazine and even some fairly reputable news outlets.

Cracks apparently began showing in their relationship after reports surfaced that Hemsworth was embarrassed by Cyrus's behavior at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, particularly how she grinded up against Robin Thicke's crotch on stage.

In fact, Hemsworth was seldom seen photographed with Cyrus after she twerked her behind all over the stage in that nude-colored outfit. According to E! News, Hemsworth was "shocked and embarrassed" by the performance.

This came on the heels of the release of Cyrus's "We Can't Stop" music video, which features the former Disney teen pop idol with her tongue hanging out of her mouth, groping her own body, and twerking with a posse of backup dancers with giant plush teddy bear dolls strapped to their back.

More recently, Cyrus released her music video for "Wrecking ball", directed by famed celebrity photographer Terry Richardson. In it, Cyrus is seen straddling a wrecking ball completely naked, and for some reason licking a sledgehammer.

Meanwhile, there have been rumors that Hemsworth has been spending a lot of time with January Jones, one of the stars of Mad Men, who is more than a decade his senior. Some reports say Jones has simply been helping Hemsworth through this tough time in his life, and has nothing to do with the couple's break-up.

But this is Hollywood, folks; it wouldn't be the first time an attractive cougar sank her claws into one of the newest and hottest cubs to enter the industry. Ashton Kutcher, anyone?
