In the last 13 years she has spent in the showbiz industry, Kareena Kapoor has not only grown as an actress, but she has also emerged as one of the style icons of India. JP Dutta film 'Border' was Kareena's debut film. Even though the film didn't do as well as expected, Kareena's performance shone through. Kareena was earlier expected to make a debut with Rakesh Roshan's 'Kaho Na Pyar Hai', but she backed out at the last minute as apparently her family was worried that Hrithik Roshan, who was also making the debut with that film would be given more importance.
Kareena Kapoor as a good hearted sex worker in 'Chameli' helped her win laurels. Her natural performance was worth the appreciation. Look: It was this Chameli look which was also used for her wax statue at London's Madame Tussauds museum.
Kareena-Shah Rukh Khan's 'Asoka' didn't really do the magic at the box office, but Kareena stood out for her performance and her look in the film.
This Karan Johar directed multi-starrer didnt have much scope for Kareena. But she played her arrogant Pooh to such perfection that she stayed in our minds, even after the film.
Undoubtedly the best performance of her career, Kareena played the role of an innocent jabber box so well, that she managed to win many awards. She carried the entire film solely on her shoulders.
