Good Samaritans can be found everywhere and across all walks of life.

A homeless man in Boston recently returned a backpack that was filled with thousands of dollars.

The bag contained exactly $2,400 in cash along with $39,500 in American Express Travelers Cheques.

The Good Samaritan claimed he found the backpack outside a T.J. Maxx store in Dorchester. An hour after the bag was received by cops, an employee at a Best Buy shop contacted police to inform them that a customer reported losing his backpack which he said contained a large sum of money.

Along with the cash and checks, the bag also held personal papers and a Republic of China passport. Using the passport, officers were able to confirm the man who claimed he lost it was indeed the rightful owner.

As the heartwarming story spread, fellow homeless men and women have praised the man.

Bob Boisselle, who stays at a shelter in the city stated “People will probably tell him he’s nuts, but homeless people are the first to help you out. They don’t have anything, but they’ll give you what they do have. “
