Maryland Speed Camera Intentionally Set on Fire

A portable speed camera in Glenelg, Maryland was recently set on fire intentionally by an unknown culprit.
Most drivers complain about the traffic cameras; however one person went over the top in expressing frustration towards the ticketing device.
A portable speed camera in Glenelg, Maryland was recently set on fire intentionally by an unknown culprit. Howard County Police responded to a 911 call on a very early Saturday morning.
The newspaper deliveryman, who reported the blaze to authorities, initially believed an electrical box, which was located near the town’s high school was on fire. However, when law enforcement authorities arrived, they realized the flames were engulfing an electrical box, but were consuming a speed camera.
It was soon determined the fire had been purposely set. Thankfully no one was injured.
The cost of the damages was not released, but the installation of new equipment to replace the burned camera was scheduled immediately.
Police are offering a $500 reward for anyone who comes forward with information about the fire. The newest incident seems to be a continuation of vandalism involving speed cameras across the sate of Maryland.
Earlier in 2013, someone spray painted two speed cameras black.
