Barcelona (Spain), Sep 9 (EFE).- F.C. Barcelona returned to the training pitch on Monday after a two-day break. Defender Dani Alves, who is suffering from tendonitis in his left ankle, was forced to return to Barcelona prematurely and worked individually during Monday's session. The Brazilian will be unable to join his national side for the rest of their scheduled international commitments.

Sergio Busquets was also unable to train with his team mates seeing as he is recovering from an elongated quadriceps.

Finally, Carles Puyol, who is still undergoing an individual training regime, is expected to be able to rejoin Barça's routine sessions shortly.

A total of nine players were present on Monday and trained under the orders of assistant coach Jorge Pautasso seeing as Gerardo Martino is still in Argentina taking care of some personal business.
