Sacked Paraguayan bus drivers in gruesome crucifixion protest
  • 11 years ago
Protesting Paraguayan bus drivers have nailed themselves to crosses in a gruesome demand to have their their jobs reinstated.

The eight drivers, plus one of their wives, have been crucified by having their arms outstretched and nails driven through their palms and into wooden boards in the shape of crosses laid out on the ground.

The men were fired from their bus driving jobs 36 days ago and some of them have been nailed to these crosses for more than 21 days already.

The drivers say they lost their jobs because they wanted better pay and improved working conditions.

The bus company which laid off the workers has agreed to reinstate five of the workers and help the remaining three find new employment, but the drivers say they will remain nailed to the crosses until all are reinstated to their positions.
