Dale Victorine - Sonata for Flute and Piano in G, Op. 102, 2nd mvt

This is the second movement of my Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 102. In 1988 I wrote some music for flute for a one-woman show, with Vera Taicher reciting her poetry in a staged presentation. This particular poem was about the pain experienced when one is not able to be with their beloved. I found myself remembering the melody over the years, then finally used it in this sonata, written in 2010. This video is my attempt to express the feelings in the poem and my music.
