Der Innsbrucker Dom besteht laut einem Vertrag bereits seit 1181.
1494 entstand die älteste erhaltene Ansicht der gotischen Kirche auf einem Aquarell von Albrecht Dürer. Die Kathedrale ist der Bischofssitz der römisch-katholischen Diözese Innsbruck.
