National League Pick vs. American League Prediction MLB All Star Game Odds Preview 7-16-2013

It will be the American League facing the National League in the Major League Baseball All Star game scheduled for Tuesday night.

First pitch from Citi Field in New York City is set for 8PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by FOX.

The MLB betting odds from the All Star Game have the home side National League favored by -125 odds with the return on the road underdog American League at +115 odds. The run over under total is lined at eight runs.

Getting the start on Tuesday night for the American League will be Max Scherzer. The Tigers right hander entered the break with a record of 13-1 with an ERA of 3.19. He has allowed less than three earned runs in six of his past eight starts. Over the past several years the pitching has gotten the best of the hitters in the All Star game. Notable pitchers for the AL include Chris Sale from the White Sox, Felix Hernandez of the Mariners and coming out of the bullpen will be Yankees reliever Mariano Rivera most likely playing his last All Star game.

On the NL side it will be right hander Matt Harvey getting the start in his home ballpark. The Met hurler is 7-2 on the season with an ERA of 2.35. He has allowed three earned runs or less in six of his past seven starts. Notable pitchers behind Harvey are Patrick Corbin from Arizona, Clayton Kershaw of the LA Dodgers, Cliff Lee of the Phillies and Madison Bumgarner of the Giants.
