Irina Khanova, co-founder of Femen Germany, went topless as part of a one-woman protest at the Neues Museum in Berlin on Wednesday. Standing in front of a bust of Queen Nefertiti and donning an Egyptian head dress, her torso bared the slogan 'Islamism rapes Egypt'. However the protest, which aimed to support Egyptian women and the revolution against President Morsi, was short lived, and the activist was promptly surrounded by security guards who went on to close off the area. Khanova, a graphic designer based in Hamburg, was then escorted off the premises, but was not arrested by police. Khanova said she chose to protest in front of Nefertiti in particular as "she is a great symbol of women, of free women, and we want to inspire and support women in Egypt and that they should come out and stop being afraid and really fight for their rights".

FEMEN (Ukrainian: Фемен) is a feminist Ukrainian protest group based in Kyiv, founded in 2008.
