This 54-year-old businessman was found hanging in his residence in Bangalore on Saturday. But what was initially considered as just another suicide case has now landed the Bangalore police department in a huge controversy. After stock broker Ripon Malhotra in his suicide note alleged that top cops in the city drove him to take the extreme step. In his 4 page suicide letter addressed to the Chief Minister, the stock broker who was already under the police scanner for fraud cases makes shocking allegations, claims that the former CP and the DCP of Bangalore demanded 7 crore rupees from him, this at a time when he was already knee deep in debts. But while the former Police Commissioner goes into denial over the allegations, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered a CID enquiry into the case. As the allegations have now raised questions on the integrity of the top cops in the Bangalore police department, all eyes now on the CID report on the probe.
