STORY: Fashion designer Edouard Vermeulen brought Belgium to Paris on Monday (July 1), showing a sophisticated collection to a royal crowd on the fringes of Paris fashion week. Members of Belgium's royal family gathered in the country's French embassy to see Belgian models strut down a runway crowned with chandeliers. Vermeulen has worked for a number of years with Argentinian-born royal Princess Maxima and says he hopes the increased publicity will allow more people to discover his label "Natan," currently celebrating its 30th birthday. The event took place on the fringes of Paris Haute Couture fashion week whose stringent rules dictate that only a handful of designers may show under its coveted banner, including Chanel, Dior and Stephane Rolland.
