Nik Wallenda Completes Grand Canyon Wire Walk: Who Are The Other Icons Of The Dare Devil World?

Captivating the world on Sunday was a dare devil who needs no introduction, Nik Wallenda. The man has become an icon of the dare devil world when he got our full attention last year becoming  the first person to walk on a high wire of the brink of Niagara Falls. In a time of 22 minutes, and 54 seconds the dare devil walked 1,400 feet over the Grand Canyon.The stunt was completed with no safety harness of net, making the event even more spell-binding and terrifying for the audiences around the world. But Wallenda is not alone in his passion for all that is epic and dangerous…Garry Connery is a name you may be familiar with as the man made headlines on the 23rd May in 2012 for making the world’s first wing suit landing without a parachute. Connery, 42 flew at a height of 2,400 feet and made the landing soft with over 18,000 cardboard boxes. The British stunt man has performed over 900 sky dives and 450 base jumps.But flying from the sky, was re-defined when one stunt man jumped from space back to the earth- his name is Felix Baumgartner from Austria and he is a skydiver, daredevil and BASE jumper.  On October 24th, 2012 he jumped from more than 24 miles from Earth, breaking the speed of sound before he released his parachute. He broke the record for the highest ever jump with speeds of 833.9 miles per hour.It is this sense of aiming higher, quite literally that has given each of these stunt devils a place in history. Nik Wallenda is the most recent of this league of devils to captivate us as he crossed the grand canyon on a wire only a couple of inches wide.When it comes to the dare devil, it seems no stunt is too scary or too impossible…..
