Former Liverpool star Gary Gillespie believes that Andy Carroll joining Liverpool was the best solution for all parties concerned.
The England striker, 24, moves to Upton Park in a deal worth a reported £15million just two-and-half years after a £35million transfer to Anfield from Newcastle.
But the giant Geordie struggled to settle on Merseyside and this, coupled with Brendan Rodgers’ inclination to play without a big striker up top, saw him exit on a season-long loan to the Hammers last campaign.
