Horizontal Cross Belt Sorters / Loop Sorters are characterized by their flexible, space-saving routing capability, which easily handles curves and conveyor inclines and declines. Infeeds and destinations can be arranged in various ways and be optimized to increase the system's performance. With an appropriate conveyor layout, it is possible to create several sortation areas with just one cycle. The Horizontal Cross Belt Sorter Conveyor is also ideally suited for operation in areas with reduced space. For example, two Cross Belt Sorters with identical routes can be installed one on top of the other to double the capacity. In contrast to Vertical Cross Belt sorters, Horizontal Cross Belt Sorters , also known as Loop Sorters, can re-circulate goods which have either not been recognized by the bar code reader or which have not be discharged from the conveyor due to the allocated destination being full.
