Mel Brooks honored in Los Angeles

Mel Brooks, whose comedy credits include "The Producers" and "Young Frankenstein," received the American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award in Los Angeles.
The 86-year-old's six-decade career began as a drummer and stand-up comedian in upstate New York.
He is only one of 11 people to win all four major awards, which include four Emmys, three Grammys, three Tonys and an Oscar.
Actor Billy Crystal said Brooks is a major contributor to American humor.

The 41st AFI Life Achievement Award tribute premieres on U.S. cable channel TNT on June 15 and on Turner Classic Movies on July 24.
