A Band Called Wanda are a 4-piece, multi-instrumental indie/folk band from Galway, Ireland. Having built a name for themselves on the Irish music scene through industrious touring and high-profile support slots to the likes of David Gray, Alabama 3, Stornoway, The Coronas, The Sawdooctors, Hothouse Flowers and Johnny Flynn, they are now considered on of the most excinting and promising new acts coming onto the Irish music scene, and are creating quite a stir with their own brand of melodic "Folk & Roll".

In April 2013 A Band Called Wanda were finalists in the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition. The final 8 were chosen from over 8,000 entries. A Band Called Wanda now join the impressive list of previous finalists who include Stornoway, Scouting For Girls, We Have Band, the Golden Silvers, the Subways and the winners of the last contest, in 2011, Treetop Flyers.

In June 2013 A Band Called Wanda will be launching their debut album, recorded in the Scottish Highlands in WaterColour Music Studios, and will be touring Ireland, the UK and Europe later in the summer.
