Large numbers of children gathered at the Mangyongdae Amusement Park in Pyongyang on Saturday as North Korea marked the 63rd anniversary of International Children's Day.

Adults including some foreign staff connected to diplomatic missions and international agencies also attended the event where youngsters took part in a range of activities including a mini military march, drumming and firing arrows at what North Korean broadcaster KCNA said was an effigy of a U.S. soldier.
