A porta-potty truck spills human waste on a Virginia roadway.

A sewage spill in Arlington, Virginia is causing major problems for residents. Recently a truck, loaded with human waste, dumped a mess onto the roadway. A car crashed into the large vehicle, leaving 5 people injured.

The truck had been carrying sewage from porta potties. In total, 1,800 gallons of sewage from the portable Johns seeped into nearby storm drains.

Eastbound lanes on Route 50 were shut down for several hours while hazmat crews contained and attempted to clean the spill. Unfortunately, human waste remnants managed to drain into a local waterway.

The Arlington County Department of Environmental Services has warned local residents to avoid the affected supply.

Last year, Westbound lanes on Interstate 10 in San Antonio were closed after a tanker truck spilled sewage. A pick-up hit the working vehicle from behind while the driver slowed in an attempt to get off of the highway.

As a result, the tanker, which had been holding portable-toilets, flipped over. Workers from the Texas Department of Transportation were called to clean the mess.
