A foreclosure facing man finds a winning lottery ticket in his cookie jar.

Here’s a good tip, after quickly looking over those lottery tickets, tuck them away somewhere and save them.

Ricardo Cerezo from Geneva, Illinois was facing foreclosure. After his wife mentioned that lottery slips were building up in the family’s cookie jar, he decided to take the tickets to a nearby 7-Eleven to have them checked out. Amazingly he learned that one of the small papers was worth $4.85 million.

Cerezo claimed the first bunch were all losers. He stated “The following one was $3, so I was excited. I get to pay for my Pepsi. And then the last one said file a claim.”

He looked online and found out that all of the numbers on the mysterious ticket matched the February 2nd Lotto drawing.

Earlier this year, a New Zealand man went looking for some tape in his junk drawer and found a winning lottery ticket worth over $450,000. After he grabbed the then forgotten handful of papers, the male checked them on the web, and discovered he was the big winner.
