The Sharks then rallied for the tie after two periods and took a 3-2 lead at 8:56 of the final period. Then the Kings were awarded a two man advantage and Dustin Brown scores off a rebound for the tie at 18:17 and 22 seconds later Trevor Lewis scores off the rebound to give LA a 2-0 lead in this series.

The Kings turned up the pressure in the third period as they outshoot San Jose by an 18-7 margin and forced two Sharks penalties in key moments of the third period deep in the San Jose zone.
